The sweetest word
Approval.
As in, “Nationstar Mortgage approves the sale of the property” and “will provide documents to release the mortgage” and “waive any remaining balance on the account.”
As in, I can almost taste the freedom.
It’s still a wee bit premature to celebrate. I now have to wait through all of the typical home closing drama – getting the house inspected, having the buyers officially approved for the loan, setting a closing date, signing lots and lots and lots of documents, all of which has to be done by April 27th, a mere 45 days away. Every step has the potential to fail, to dissolve all of the hard work and I can still be facing foreclosure. But this was the big, rate-limiting step (see above diagram. Who knew that general chemistry would still be applicable?) and the success here makes me truly hopeful for the first time that things will work out.
