Sorry everybody else,

Ali, I’ve been unable to load http://www.stars-hollow.org for over a week now. At first I thought the site was down, but everybody else seems to have no problems. I get a error message, regardless of what browser I’m using, that the server does not exist. Did you change any settings last week? Anything that I am blatantly overlooking?

I’m going to call my internet people tomorrow, but could I get the IP address so I can try pinging it and see if that works? Any other suggestions?

    Julia, I can get to the site just fine; does your internet have any kind of on-site blocks where they might think the site is ‘offensive’ based on a list from a company? This shouldn’t be happening at all. Check your internet options under ‘content’ and make sure that s-h.org isn’t in the ‘blocked zone’, otherwise I’d say clear your cache and cookies, and if that doesn’t work, call the ISP. The site should load for you no problem.

    🙁 I’m really sorry that you’re having problems with the site, but I haven’t changed anything about it recently, so I can’t think what might be causing this.

    I tried to get our IP address, but the only one I can seem to get takes me to our host’s homepage (nexcess.net) so I guess they have it set up to either redirect to them or… something.

    But feel free to try it: 66.118.190.12

    I don’t know what else to tell you. I checked your user info in the admin control panel, but everything looks normal, it’s not set to block you from the site or anything.

    Although, I did try pinging the IP address in your profile and it said it couldn’t be reached (“Destination host unreachable”). I don’t know if that’s normal. I know very little about this stuff really.

      Hey Ali,

      I just called my ISP to see if it was on their end. I’m not good with computer jargon at all, but the gist of it was that they think that the problem is with nexcess.net. They said that when they log on and explore, it doesn’t show that the DNS server is attached to the URL. They either got back “not responding” or error messages. They tried all sorts of things, and nothing.

      I know extremely little also. Would you mind contacting your hosting service and see if they updated their DNS servers recently or something? Maybe they might have a clue of what’s going on or had other complaints. And if they want to talk to my ISP provider, the number is 888-284-8161

      It still seems odd that I’m the only one having problems, though….

          Nah, don’t feel bad. It’s probably a combination of everything, coming down on my computer. All of a sudden, for no reason at all, it will start to work again. I have faith. 😀

          I do appreciate all the work that you’re doing for this though!
