Updates
I’m still not able to log on and reschedule the exam. Now, I’m getting error messages that I don’t exist. Lovely. And my phone is dead, so I can’t call anyone. *head bangs* At this rate, it’ll be next Christmas before I’m able to take it.
I need to get back to studying. Somebody force me to sit down and study.
Haven’t been Christmas shopping yet. That might be a problem. Hmm.
I did get my tickets to Kenya and my travel Visa, so everything is progressing well for my trip. Still haven’t gotten my shots. I’ll probably do that next week as a study break. Glee!
shirerain, claidheamhmor, and melancthe, here is my flight information for my trip to Kenya and South Africa. I haven’t bought the plane ticket from Johannesburg to Nelspruit yet, so I don’t know exactly when I’ll be seeing all of you, but this is a rough estimate.

I haven’t bought tickets for the SA legs in part because I wasn’t sure if there were times that would be absolutely unavailable for any of you. I’d be flying to Nelspruit directly after my arrival on Friday, but I was thinking either to fly back to Johannesburg Tuesday or Wednesday sometime, to see some of the city and have dinner with claidheamhmor and melancthe, before catching my flight out. Is that workable? Also, what do you know about the airlines “South African Airlink”, “South African Express”, “Nationwide”, and/or “Kulula.com”. Cheapest? Most avoidable? Etc.
Okay, now, it’s really time to get back to the books.

Reactivating scheduling number with stupid company to reschedule exam before Dec. 31st: $100
3-month extension because no dates are available anywhere in the US in December: $50
Sending 3-month extension application overnight delivery so can reschedule exam ASAP for January: $14.50
Discovering that one can’t check if dates are even available in 3-month extension because of stupid company’s stupid computer program: Priceless.

Hmmm. Had some ideas here.
Melancthe and I have been wanting to wander out that way for a while – we honeymooned at the Sudwala Caves, not far from Nelspruit. We figure we may be able to kill two birds with one stone here – we’d like to take a short holiday out that way again, so we could always plan it around then. We could stay out that way for a few days, perhaps meet up with you and Shirerain, if you want (we’d like to meet Shirerain!), and then give you a lift back to Johannesburg on Tuesday/Wednesday (and you’re welcome to stay at our place overnight – we have space). That’d save you a flight, at the least, and it’d be nice to chat to you on the trip. (Heck, we could probably give you a lift to Nelspruit, if you wanted).
Airlines: I don’t think any are any more to be avoided than any other – they’re all reasonably well-known local airlines.
Oh, wow, that would be fantastic!! I think that would work very well. I don’t want to be a bother, but it would be so great to get to know the two of you better (would you be bringing Morgan and/or Heather along?) and I gotta say that getting out of an airplane ride would be great. I’d be more than willing to help with gas and all of that.
I haven’t confirmed things with Ellie, but I think it would work very well. Give me a couple of days to think through and arrange things on my end, and we can make more definite plans!

We wouldn’t bring kids – that might be a bit much, I think. Sounds excellent – let us know! We’re happy to help where we can for a foreign LJ friend!
