Everwood on DVD

posted in Uncategorized |

Just passing the word on…

Amazon has the Season 1 DVD of Everwood on sale for $16.99. The WB has not released any other seasons of it on DVD< due to poor sales when it was first released (I'll admit, I didn't buy it). It's now #7 on the Amazon list Amazon link

Normally, I don’t try to encourage consumerism, but if you do like Everwood (or would like to get into it), consider buying the DVD. Maybe, just maybe, they’ll release the other seasons and/or renew Everwood for the midseason once 7th Heaven finally dies and we are rid of that decaying, smelly corpse of a show. 🙂

ETA: I feel like I have now done my civic duty. 🙂 My review for 7th Heaven showed up (so far only one person, my sister, has found the review helpful), but if my 1 star can help bring down the ratings and send a message that decent people don’t like that show, then it’s worth it. And I’ve submitted a review for Everwood as well… 🙂 I feel good.

And now you have two ;). Loved your review.

I just find it so funny that you absolutely hate 7H and it’s like the official show of the state of Utah (the general boring stereotype version, not the real version). I just hate that cost is one of the factors in bringing it back because on-location shoots up in Provo cost a few more dollars that shooting a crappy show in some dingy soundstage in the middle of Burbank. At least Everwood has a real feel to it, while 7th Heaven feels like Ozzie and Harriet, just in color and with more Bible-thumping.

      Thanks!

I have taste, Nate. 🙂 And I appreciate good tv.

I don’t think it’s Utah that is the main viewer draw though…most of the sentimentality seemed to be more “deep south” views than Utah. But maybe that’s just me.

I like Ozzie and Harriet better… at least that was expected from 1950s television.

Yes, and at least Ozzie and Harriet had good jokes. And Ricky Nelson. The last thing I want is to have let’s say Mackenzie Rosman have a music career (shudders). Or a dancing career from that gif that’s been going around from the finale.

And definitely the show’s views seem more appropriate for deep south than a general suburban community, thankfully they never mentioned which synod/sect that the CamChurch was associated with.

My goal was to read 120 books this year. I just finished number 129. (Some of these I reviewed as part of my WWW posts). October: Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. I had high expectations for this book, as it had been so praised, and I felt let down by it. Still enjoyable, […]
