summerfest

Tonight, I realized that I am not 20 years old anymore and screaming at the top of my lungs, listening to loud music, being pushed and shoved by drunken slobs are not my ideas of fun anymore. (Not that they really ever were).
And that’s okay.
Because that was a fun part of my life, but growing is ok too
(Let’s see if I’m still saying this when I hit 30 in a year and a half)
But Dashboard Confessional is pretty awesome live and I still love “Vindicated” as much as I did when it represented the dark haired rebel boy who had a thing for paperback novels in his back pocket.
And I think I have filled my lifetime quota of Summerfest.

Ah Summerfest. I’ve never gone. The only thing that would tempt me to go down would be an artist that I really like
like this year with Ben Folds and I couldn’t go. Who did you see when you went?Mostly Dashboard Confessional. Augustana was playing as well, and I really wanted to hear them, but my friends didn’t know who they were. We wandered around a bit, caught some U2 wannabes and other coverbands. I think Daughty was the big name band, but I really wasn’t interested in seeing him.
It certainly wasn’t worth the $15 admission and $6 bus ride, though. I guess I considered it a “gotta go once” so I can consider myself a Wisconsian.
