Rec me, I rec you

posted in Uncategorized |

There will be a real post too soon, I promise (no, I’m not avoiding LJ like last week, I just got super busy. And unfortunately, it’s the boring kind of super busy that wouldn’t be the slightest bit interesting to read about). But until then:

Snagged from eponine119:

Rec-Go-Round: Rec me ONE story you’ve written that you’re proud of, any fandom, any genre, here on my LJ.

Then go forth and ask the same in yours.

  • I don’t know if I’m still proud of it — probably not — but in looking at your Gilmore fic, I saw you’d written a Washington DC story, which I will have to read for curiosity’s sake now, because I wrote one too! So that’s what I’m reccing, even though it’s probably no good now and if I reread it I’d be embarrassed, so you’re under no obligation to read it. (I’m just being random now, I think.)

I remember that story! I read it when I was formulating my ideas for the summer away and loved it (I’ve always been bad about reviewing) because of the pseudo-friendship between Rory and Paris. I reread it last night–it’s still good. Your characterizations were spot on (well, for season 1-3 Rory and Paris) and I loved all the details about DC. I thought it was one of the best stories of the “post kiss” although I have to admit that I was a wee bit disappointed that nothing was resolved with the Dean-Rory-Jess triangle, but after reading it again, I found it a much more satisfying ending. 🙂

My DC story… the poor unfinished thing. It takes me forever to write, and with medical school and then the loss of the show and characters that I love, it’s been hard to finish it. I’ve made it my goal to get it done before I leave for residency. We’ll see if I accomplish that.

  • What a cool meme. I’m looking forward to doing this.

Mine would have to be… All Tinged Black. (But you’ve already read it (thank you!). :))

I reread that as well. It was very good as I remembered. 🙂

I think my favorite story of yours is Understated. Or Slant of Light. Or. Or. I haven’t read your latest yet, but I plan to fix that as soon as possible!

      *hugs*

  • You’ve read most of what I’ve written and the rest is all WIP’s (as you’ve seen when you were here). But I was looking for something else the other day and found the printed version of this again and I’m actually quite proud of it after almost two years.

In other news – I’ve started to write my first letter!

    • Books read October-December 01/01/2024
My goal was to read 120 books this year. I just finished number 129. (Some of these I reviewed as part of my WWW posts). October: Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. I had high expectations for this book, as it had been so praised, and I felt let down by it. Still enjoyable, […]
