fairy tale endings

Is anybody watching Once Upon A Time? I started watching it on Hulu this past week and I’m loving it so far. I’m a sucker for fairy tale retellings: I own a dozen different young adult novels that are retellings of one fairy tale or another, and eagerly pick up others; The 10th Kingdom is one of my secret dirty laundry loves that I would never ever admit to. At least in polite, judging company. Anyway, Once is by the same writers as Lost, which is obvious in some of the story-telling (backstories, reveals, dialogue), but man, my life has had a big gaping hole since the end of Lost, so I’m not seeing that as a downside. It verges on being predictable and cheesy and it’s not as clever as Lost was by this point, but their first season was nothing less than pure genius, so I’m not holding it against them. I love the slow development the characters (also a Lost motif), although there are some that are bothering me. I hope that we get to see a little bit more from some of the minor characters.

In short. I’m enjoying it and want others to watch it so I can gush with them and ponder theories. Solitary fandom is so lonely sometimes.
