Dear Liz:

I’ve killed our basil plant and I don’t know how! I watered it once a week, gave it plenty of sunshine and it’s just withered away. Granted, I haven’t talked to it or caressed its green leaves, except when I plucked them for gnawing, but I thought for sure that my love would be enough to save it.

Woe. No pesto for me. 🙁 🙁 🙁
