Full circle

Alice, my friend Susan’s little girl (she’s 18 months ago), is still learning the intricacies of the human language. Julia is much too complicated to say, so now that she’s warming up to me, she calls me “Ya Ya” (my nickname from my childhood when my younger sisters couldn’t say Julia either.
Spending one’s 30th birthday with a toddler is the perfect way to make one feel young again. 🙂

Be careful! My friend’s little boy couldn’t say “Donna” so it was “Noonah” and then “Nanu.”
Ten years later, the entire family still calls me Nanu.
I’ve been called Ya Ya pretty much my entire life. I don’t mind a second generation carrying it on. 🙂
