It’s probably a sad reflection on my priorities when I tell you that the only Christmas shopping that I’ve done has been for me.
But that’s only because I’ve been saving up to buy this for months now, and researched every price available and when I saw the bargain price, I couldn’t resist.
Yes, I bought my camera.
Isn’t it pretty? I found it at a reputable dealer online for over $250 dollars off the suggested retail price with the two lens that I wanted. I haven’t found a better price in the months that I have been saving my pennies. I’m still sort of hyperventilating from the purchase; even though it was a steal, I never make frivolous purchases, but I know once my hands are on it, that will pass. I can’t wait to try it out!
(Psst, for those who might be interested, I bought mine at Adorama. They have other kits there of the Nikon cameras that are a steal as well.)
You will love this camera! It’s a pleasure to use, weighs practically nothing in comparative DSLR terms, and takes amazing photos. Can’t wait to see the results!

Disatisfied with the Cannon already? Hope there was nothing wrong with it.
Nope. It works fabulously (besides going through batteries like candy–I’m getting rechargables this week). But I’ve been wanting a more sophisticated camera, because I really am wanting to get into photography and the Nikon is a great amateur SLR. The little Cannon will be my everyday camera, the Nikon is for the fancy dress balls. 🙂

I’m jealous! I totally want a DSLR! Allen says Nikon is coming out with a 25.3 MP camera soon . . . I won’t need that, but I would kill for a D90!
That one looks a lot like ours, we love it. It does lots of fun stuff (most of which I don’t know) and we also have a small canon for me to carry with children. Have fun with learning all about it. AJ

Haven’t you learned by now that it is always easier to Christmas shop for yourself than anyone else? When you’re out shopping, all those luscious goodies you have been wanting are suddenly on display.
The best way to Christmas shop is to find things YOU want, then think of whom on you list would also like the item.
